Red Packets & Lion Dances
Chinese New Year is the biggest holiday in Singapore, and a major theme is prosperity. It ranges from giving hong bao (红包), red packets with cash, booking a lion dance troupe or going for the mega jackpot at the national lottery. To mark the Year of the Snake, I'm going to track down a troupe and record a full performance. Will I manage to find one during the 15 days of celebration?
